Bippr was created by Magnus K S Andersen (Gnus) to make it easy to get files online. This can be useful when sharing files too large for email, or if you want to share files with people where email is unavailable, for instance on Twitter, SMS and so on.
This service requires lots of storage. Because of that, all files are stored on Amazon S3, and in fact uploaded there directly from the end-users. S3 is probably the most cost-effective hosting platform on the internet today. The site itself is running on a VPS at Linode, a respectable hosting company. The Linode data-center is located in Newark, NJ USA. The S3 data-center is either in Ireland or the US, depending on where the end-user is located. We are using the Ireland-data-center for EU-users.
The data is stored on Bippr for 30 days, then deleted. File size limit is 1 GB so far. These limits may change later. If you have any views on this, please let us know.

No user information other than the files itself are stored intentionally by us. However, your ip address and other information may be stored in logs.
By using Bippr, you confirm that you will not break any laws in your country. Illegal files are not allowed and will be deleted upon request.
